Bellevue, WA is a vibrant city located just east of Seattle. With its scenic views of the Cascade Mountains and beautiful Lake Washington, it has become a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. Bellevue has been consistently rated as one of the best places to live in America with its excellent schools, diverse restaurants, lively entertainment, and plenty of things to do and see. When you visit Bellevue, you can expect to find an abundance of activities that cater to all interests, such as shopping at the upscale Bellevue Square Mall or visiting beachfront parks like Swansea Beach Park. BELLEVUE IS AWESOME!!!! - 11/4/2019
Bellevue is absolutely amazing! Great for professionals and families! Many amenities in the city itself almost anything you need! Plus Seattle is a short drive from the area, as well! Instead of reading the reviews come visit the city if possible! You won't regret it! It's a beautiful well established and safe city that is still growing and has a strong economy. Rent is pretty high but you pay for the quality of life you get in Bellevue and pay tends to be very high in the area in proportion to the costs. It's a super cool city but if you're looking for a suburban area Bellevue has many itself, but Redmond, Issaquah, and Sammamish are all worth checking out depending on your budget. I totally agree with the person who moved here from Germany! I've seen a lot of the US (not as much as them) and nothing even comes close to Bellevue and the surrounding cities. Read More

Best place to live, period! - 1/17/2018
I became a Bellevue resident twelve years ago after moving from Germany; I never lived anywhere else in the USA and have no intention of "experimenting". I also traveled the country (US) from coast to coast on my motorcycle, I traveled the west coast up and down multiple times and I meat people in the most remote locations, I had the opportunity to see more of the US than probably 99% of the population all-together and my mind is clear in this respect, Bellevue can't be beaten. Someone said "if you can afford it", which is sort of true because regardless of the location, you need to be able to afford housing and living. The matter of the fact is that Bellevue WA has great income opportunities and this is why housing/living is priced accordingly. Weather is ideal; it rains more in Stuttgart (where I moved from) and climate is better at any point in time here. Activities not able to do need to be invented... Dining, shopping, culturally, socially, you name it, it's there at high class. Read More

Gorgeous place to live with a lot of recreation - 9/4/2017
I've lived in many different places in the U.S., and I loved Bellevue. Gorgeous mid-sized city with views of the cascades and beautiful lakes. Read More

Extreme unfriendliness and passive-aggressive cult - 3/22/2016
Read what Wikipedia has to say about passive-aggressive behavior and you'll understand WA in general and Bellevue in particular. If you're a loner and want to stay that way, WA is for you. If, however, you want to make friends or even have a real conversation with someone, look somewhere else.
Do not believe the hype about the vibrant economy. I believe WA-based companies get a tax break for opening up job orders.
WA is more passive-aggressive and unfriendly than HI.

The weather in Fall, Spring, Winter is great. Summers are difficult... The daily highs aren't reached until 8 PM so, the weather forecasts always under-estimate how hot it really gets here. 100F at 8 PM is not pleasant. Read More

Bellevue, Washington - 5/24/2013
I've watched Bellevue grow up from a sleepy town to a beautiful city over the past 30 years. It is still growing. Traffic jams are constant now, shops are more sophisticated (and pricier) but the people here are as friendly as ever. And that is probably unusual for such a diverse population. Read More

Great city, if you're OK with Northwest weather - 11/27/2010
I've lived in Bellevue for 15+ yrs and overall it's great. It is expensive, but if you can make the economics work, it has just as much to offer as living in Seattle, without the intense congestion.

It's grown significantly beyond being just a Seattle suburb, into a city in it's own right. Excellent parks and other public facilities/services. Getting to Seattle ranges from 15-60 minutes, depending on traffic.

My only issue with this area (this region in general) after these many years is that it is very grey here. It's not so much actual precipitation (many cities get more), but just the number of grey days. The sunny days are glorious, any time of year, it's just that there are not enough of them.

RE: the quality of life in Bellevue WA - 11/11/2008
This area is a little more upscale, but it's a great place for cleanliness, and family and culture. I live in a part called Crossroads, which is a little cheaper than the downtown Bellevue. There is also a lot more diversity among people. The area is clean, the schools are decent, and there is an abundance of help for the low income community if you research. The classes are a little more divided between low income and high income, there isn't a lot of middle class in Bellevue. The best things about Bellevue are how easy it is to access the larger surrounding cities including: Seattle, Tacoma, Everett, Seatac, Bellingham. It's kind of a centered city that has pretty good access to every city. The job market is ok, but in this city, it's always growing and expanding. It's a wealthy Read More
